The Cerbera in the 2000 Privilege GT championship aren't the first Cerberas to hit the track. Aside from the 4.5 entered by Colin Blower a couple of years back, enthusiasts in Belgium have also had a go and plan to get back on track again.

The car ran in the 1998 Belcar Championship. This is Belgium's GT Endurance championship consisting of six two hour races and one twenty-four hour race at Zolder.

The Cerbera GT was constructed in the workshop of TVR Belgium over the 1997-1998 winter months. Having ordered a Cerbera chassis, body shell and front wind screen from the factory everything else was made from scratch, and up to first class racing standards, including:

• Heavily modified lightweight polyester body panels with a one piece lift-off bonnet
• Wide wheel arches,
• Underside venturi
• Huge rear front and rear wings
• Perspex rear window and side windows
• Revised chassis and suspension (lowered: 10 cms)
• 18 inch magnesium wheels with slicks
• Huge cross drilled brake discs
• Full-race interior with welded roll cage, fuel cell, etc.

The car is pictured here still in its primer as there wasn't time to paint it before its first race!

Following a crash at Francorchamps, the opportunity was taken to revise the aerodynamics of the car and paint it blue.

The car proved quick - particularly when GT veteran Rob Schirle took it out for a test drive, but as with many race cars suffered from lack of development.
