Just spent some time reading up her posts. The one spread over new year was entertaining, can't see her needing any help............. |
She taught me everything I know in how to be stroppy .... she ist two und bit years older than me...und our Papa was always soft touch for her Some of those posts around Xmas... was like soap opera und we were all on seat edges as those two members of this family took on the muesliest munchers on there..... und they accused her of being Paulie in drag, his gangsta moll.... und so weiter....they deleted the COAST thread as insults towards her got OTT. But that was startling... Concentrating, Observing, Anticipating und allowing space und time .. apparently not desired qualities in drivers (FR was one of the few who did not share this....but she was a bit naughty to him at times. )

I have actually enjoyed reading this thread and he has had the temerity to keep with it in face of hostility. For that he should be entitled to a smidgeon of respect?

Und it gets worse... Perhaps if our cycling pal actually does a couple of track days und an IAM as opposed to pass plus ...he may see the error of his ways mit regard to the 70 mph limit. Und in any case ... the more decent und politely phrased arguments ....perhaps there ist time (he ist just a mere boy at 26 after all ) to educate him to only logical conclusions namely that these are scams, don't do the job as claimed und emphasis should be on training und maintaining quality skills .

Indeed I do wonder what his role model is like to have such strong views at such a young age. I must admit I had in mind a 50 plus bloke not a young whippersnapper

So people who spend more time looking at their speedos so they don'y go 5-6mph over the limit so they don't get zapped by scameras are safe and don't get distracted then? |
Anybody who can't glance at their speedo to check their speed whilst driving without having an accident clearly shouldn't be on the road. How hard is it to check your speed whilst maintaining safe driving?? |
Exactly. It's the speeding driver that has no brain. Surely even the lowest standard of skilled driver can maintain a safe speed that is both safe and is within the legal limit. If you can't you need retraining or parhaps take the bus. I am astounded by somne attitudes and statements on here regarding this. Take the Wildcat who not only drives within the limit and never speeds but is so underconfident despite COAST that she takes a route that avoids the cameras. How brainless is that?

Spot on. |
I don't thik this is spot on at all james_j me old fruit! All of these agencies are: " who use the roads, are on the wrong side of the KSI figure " Or are they some form of government being rolled in and out of the office between 0900 and 1700? You are obviously a citizen of the real world.

funkyrobot said:| Just to clear this up I also totally agree that speed is not the only factor in causing accidents, as I mentioned in my original post. Speed regulation in certain areas is a very good thing though because there are so many people who think they know better but they clearly don't. |
This is a very good point. Speed is of course not the only factor in an accident or it's severity. The problem we have here is that there is widespread denial of the physical fact that the likelyhood of the accident occuring in the first place and the severity that follows is directly proportional to the speed of vehicles. The biggest cause of denial and the justification that the speed limit is not that drivers are more highly skilled so they can speed without an increase in risk but that they think they are. Now that is dangerous.

Ah, if I were a real troll I would have nipped off ages ago wouldn't I!! Some people agree with me a bit though on some of my points so thats a result!!! |
I wouldn't worry about it. Troll seems to be someone on here who disagrees with the populus even when an alternative argument is posted. Perhaps thay prefer to abuse with this term rather than accept an alternative to speed, ho ho.

That is very peculiar wording, but it seems highly likely that there is a significant nonsense content all the same. I hope you're more careful with your driving than you are with a keyboard. Best wishes all, Dave.

But the amount of our money that's given to all these, bar one, is controlled by the government (we don't get a say in this either), thereby their opinions are somewhat less than independent.
