PetrolTed has brought to my attention that a couple of my recent(ish) postings on PH have caused offence to a specific individual. I have been advised by others that, as a serving Police Officer, my postings could possibly be misconstrued as official Police policy.
Firstly, I apologise to anyone who I have caused offence to.
Secondly, I should like to remind readers that postings by me reflect my own, personal views, and not any official view or Policy of the particular Police Service which employs me.
I am not going to discuss what caused offence, but felt that I should apolgise publicly, as well as clarifying my own position.
I have already e-mailed Ted off thread, apologising for creating extra, unnecessary work for him. The offending comments have already been removed by Ted.

Hi Dibble, I also have no idea what you are talking about (makes a change from my usual state of having no idea what I am talking about) and no idea how anyone could find your usual posting style offensive. I hope the target of your apology has the grace to accept it, thank you and move on.
Don't let it put you off posting here, lots of us appreciate your balanced and amusing input.
Sorry to hear selling WHOCT at the front desk is not actually official police policy.

Damn... I hate it when I miss a good flame-war    Dunno what it was about but every credit for popping up and saying "didn't mean to offend but sorry anyway". It's easy for things to get taken the wrong way on email/forums/usenet so hope both of you can step away. smile, kiss, make up and wander off into a Hollywood sunset. But a bit of a job for ya in the meantime... I think you're the closest BiB to where I am so would you mind awfully just popping down & doing a bit of on the unknown scum-sucking, bottom feeding parasitical excuse for an oxygen thief that's had a go at getting into my old Volvo? The locks held and it's an old battlebus that doesn't want money spending on it but even so    . I know you're not in Merseyside but we've even got a beach so you'll feel right at home... go on, come on down and bring a big stick!
