I don't understand why bother looking to race kids in cars?

We were all young at one stage and thought we were the next nigel mansel in whatever shopping trolley our first car was, so what's the big deal. Makes me question who's the idiot young chav or someone in a car worth a lot more, possibly responsible job, house, family etc going round looking to race them for cheap thrills.

I remember tootling along in a completely unassuming Bora TDi in L1 on the M6. I was a mile or two away from my intended exit when a chavved up Civic rattled past me and proceeded to cut up/undertake/overtake everyone dangerously and was basically being driven by a complete arse (I mean I hate MLMs but this guy was just plain dangerous).

It gave me the needle and I know it was wrong of me but as we both left the motorway at the same exit I drove a little 'aggressively' myself. He knew it was aimed at him and he was surprisingly subdued after that! He stayed at a respectable distance from me, probably thinking I was plod. Either way it seemed to surprise and confuse him that someone had actually fought back!


Right or wrong, it was quite satisfying.
